Coventry to host UK City of Culture 2021

Coventry will host the prestigious title of UK City of Culture 2021, Arts Minister John Glen announced today. The decision was made after an independent panel of culture experts, chaired by television producer and screenwriter Phil Redmond, visited each of the five candidate cities before recommending Coventry as the winner.

Inspired by one of the characters found on Cadbury selection boxes, yule be surprised to hear that 70kg of milk and white chocolate went into bringing Santa’s favourite reindeer to life.

Get ready to Make Merry at the Herbert this December

There's a weekend of festive fun approaching with a selection box of Christmassy events based at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry. It kicks off on Friday 8 December with the special after hours edition of the Making Merry craft fair, showcasing local artists and craftspeople. The free evening event running from 7.30pm until 10.30pm is a chance for over 18s to get some Christmas shopping done in style, browsing handmade gifts and decorations. Visitors can enjoy a festive tipple in the café with live music from The Upsiders, plus games and the usual crafty making fun. Free tickets can be booked online in advance.
