Visitors will be able to take part in their very own Olympic Games at Hatton Farm Village, near Warwick, this summer.

The popular visitor attraction has announced plans for this year’s Summer Spectacular, which will feature the Hatton Olympics three times a day, every day, during the school summer holidays.

Guests will be greeted by a Games host, who will be dressed in traditional Olympic clothes, and who will oversee and run the sports events. “There will be an Opening Ceremony, just like the real thing, as well as our own Hatton Olympic Torch,” said Hatton Farm Village manager, Richard Craddock.

“We’re providing a full range of running and jumping activities including relay races, as well as straight running and some traditional games such as shot putt and Javelin, so it should encourage the children to expend some energy.

“And we’re also playing proper Olympic-style music to create a genuine feeling for the children, and there will be medal ceremonies at the end of each session.”

The maize maze at Hatton will also be Olympic-themed, and will be decorated with flags from 25 different countries from around the world. Visitors will be challenged to find animals with specific links to those countries, for example a kangaroo for Australia and a kiwi for New Zealand.

Designed to allow children of all ages to enjoy fun-filled versions of the traditional Olympic sports, the Hatton Games will run alongside the usual attractions available at the farm village, including a children’s disco, goat racing, owl and falconry displays and a host of other activities, such as Snorty’s Bouncing Barnyard - a 12,000 sq ft indoor play area with three giant slides, a ball pool splash and an abundance of soft play.

The summer spectacular will run through the local school summer holiday period, from July 21 to September 2.

Hatton Farm Village is at Hatton Country World, located just off the A4177 between Warwick and Solihull. For further information call 01926 843411 or visit www.hattonworld.com
