The Farmhouse

""Welcome to an age past - a slow pace""

Time to relax and watch the rest of the world go by. Blue wisteria and scarlet creepers ramble this lovely 16th Century coaching house and Georgian farmhouse. Just one mile from Oswestry and the A5/A483, easily accessible from the M54, M6 and M56, but nestling in beautiful Shropshire/Welsh borderlands where England blends with Wales in culture and history. Very near theMontgomery canal which has recently been restored.

A pretty country house with period oak furnishings plus attractive decor and lovely fabrics which add the charm and character, separate dining and drawing rooms traditionally styled with log burners and oak floors. Wide oak polished staircase, marble fireplace and fresh flowers. Four fully equipped bedrooms, en-suite with electric showers. Double, twin and Super King size beds. Crisp bed linen and comfy beds. Beverage trays, hairdryers, easy chairs, everything you need. Two interconnecting family rooms available, en-suite, always popular.

Excellent farmhouse breakfast, own barn eggs, local produce. 5 to 10 minutes walk to old canal-side inn serving excellent meals - Bistro or restaurant style. Abundance of eating houses locally, all good value catering for all tastes, some in Oswestry, some in local villages and alongside the canal. Sample Welsh and English languages that brings together a delightful blend of cultures that make up this unique area full of heritage and legends.

Places to Visit

Visit bustling Oswestry - a border market town with street markets and varied interesting different shops. Close to Llangollen - home of the Eisteddfod and the Dee Valley, the Ceiriog Valley, Llanrhaedr Waterfall - one of the wonders of Wales. Medieval Shrewsbury and Roman Chester. Powis and Chirk Castles, Erddig Hall and Attingham Park all National Trust properties. Take a day out in North or Mid Wales and Snowdonia, West Wales coast just an hour's drive.

Ironbridge, Ludlow, Bridgnorth are all about 45 minutes drive. Bala and Vyrnwy Lakes plus Ellesmere Lakes have wildlife centres. Take steam trains, beautiful gardens and much, much more. Go walking, fishing, horseriding, especially good flat walking on our own Montgomery Canal just 5 minutes walk away. Canoeing and sailing too. Three excellent golf courses on our doorstep, swim in the leisure centre - 5 minutes drive - its all here.
