KINGSBURY WATER PARK, 5 miles north of Coleshill, North Warwickshire B76 0DY

The largest of Warwickshire’s Country Parks, and home to several watersports clubs, with over 600 acres there is so much to see and do including riding on the famous miniature railway which is open Sundays and Bank Holiday weekends. Donkey rides and cycle hire are available at the weekend and during school holidays throughout the summer. The two adventure play areas allow youngsters of all ages to burn off their energy. The site has many miles of flat, surfaced footpaths, suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs, and cycles beside landscaped, picturesque lakes. The Broomey Croft entrance is the place to go for using the bird hides, and visiting the Children’s Farm and The Granary Tea Rooms which are open weekends and school holidays, (except November & December).



POOLEY COUNTRY PARK, Polesworth, North Warwickshire B78 1JA

The hidden gem of Polesworth on the canalside which is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) so come along and find out why! Walk through to the Alvecote Priory Picnic Area, where you can picnic amongst the remains of a 14th Century Benedictine Priory. There’s also a fantastic mining memorabilia collection in the Visitor Centre/Tea Room, where you can learn all about the previous life of this site as a coal mine which operated from 1846 to 1965 as you enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake.



HARTSHILL HAYES COUNTRY PARK, on the outskirts of Nuneaton, North Warwickshire CV10 0TE

Two areas of ancient and quite historic hilly woodland make up most of this delightful country park. Highlighted for its glorious display of bluebells in the Springtime, well worth a visit. Situated on a hillside, there are panoramic views over four counties on a clear day.

RYTON POOLS COUNTRY PARK, 5 miles from Warwick and Leamington, mid Warwickshire CV8 3BH

Developed from a picnic area into a country park in 1996 with its own miniature railway which is open on Sundays from April to September. There are lots of surfaced, footpaths, accessible to all, a sensory trail to explore and lakeside parking for those who just like to sit and watch the world go by.



BURTON DASSETT HILLS COUNTRY PARK, 10 miles south of Warwick, South Warwickshire CV47 2AB

Unspoilt, rolling hills – that’s what you get at Burton Dassett. If you’ve travelled along the M40 and seen a beacon on top of a hill near j12, then you’ve spotted part of the country park. Whether you’re walking, flying a kite or just relaxing, the magnificent views from these hills are breathtaking.



THE STRATFORD GREENWAY, Stratford-upon-Avon, South Warwickshire CV37 6GR

Part of the former GWR Stratford railway line, this five mile, easy access surfaced track is ideal for walking or cycling. With its views of the Cotswolds, this is an ideal and safe, traffic-free environment for everyone. There are two carriage cafes at this site and cycle hire available. There is currently no parking charge at this site.



UFTON FIELDS NATURE RESERVE, 3 miles south of Leamington Spa CV33 9PU

Many unusual plants thrive on the infertile lime-rich soil at this Nature Reserve, formed after limestone excavations ceased. As well as plants, Ufton is home to 15 types of dragonfly and 28 different butterflies. A mostly flat, circular, surfaced footpath will take walkers around the site. There is no parking charge at this site.

THE OFFCHURCH GREENWAY CV33 9AU

This greenway forms part of Sustrans NCR Route 41, formally part of the Leamington to Rugby railway line. The flat, surfaced footpath and cycleway offers exceptional views across South Warwickshire as users make their way along its one and half mile route.

Access to the site, if arriving by car, should be to the mid point at the Offchurch crossroads, where a small car park is provided. Alternatively, if walking or cycling from the Leamington direction, access is available via the Grand Union Canal towpath at Radford Semele.



THE KENILWORTH GREENWAY CV8 2JT

This new greenway is the old railway branch line from Berkswell to Kenilworth Junction.

As well as being a linear Country Park, it is a permissive bridleway which means that it can be used by pedestrians, cyclists and horse-riders. Kissing gates have been installed to prevent unauthorised access by motorbikes, and horse-riders will need to buy an annual permit and a key to get onto the Greenway. The track is segregated with a natural grass track for horses and a firm track for other users.



Mobility Scooters are available on a loan scheme at Kingsbury, Ryton and Pooley but booking is advisable. Birthday parties and school holiday events are available.
