This Georgian Rectory has been home of the rectors since it was built in 1804. The last 9 years the rectory has been through a complete renovation programme and has been restored to its former glory. Our handsome Georgian house is set within 3.5 acres of beautiful walled gardens with rolling lawns and stunning views and located on the edge of the bustling market town of Wem in Shropshire.

The Old Rectory is a real haven of comfort and style. We've created a special place that people love, where individually styled rooms (everyone has a favourite), home-grown produce and friendly and professional staff (if you want our attention) are just part of The Old Rectory experience.

For get-away from it all weekends, informal lunches, dinners, weddings, special occasions or business meetings and conferences, we look forward to seeing you. Or if simply sinking into one of our squashy sofas for a coffee and a home-baked scone takes your fancy, we're here for you too.

Our food is full of good ideas. Carefully selected local produce and home-grown vegetables and herbs plucked from our garden combine to make dining at The Old Rectory a special experience.

Situated a 10 minute walk from the centre of the old market town of Wem. For sightseeing and exploring local to Hawkstone Golf Club and Follies, Meres of Ellesmere, Shropshire Union Canals, Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway and only a few miles to the welsh border. For history and shopping we are local to the historic medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Chester. 1 mile to the local railway station offering direct lines and good links to Shrewsbury, Crewe, Birmingham and London. Local bus stop opposite hotel going to Shrewsbury and Whitchurch.

Celebrate with us. Whatever your reason to celebrate - birthdays, christenings or anniversaries - we're here to stage the best party you've ever had!

Weddings at The Old Rectory are special. Your wedding day is about individuality and creating special memories. Whether you want a small civil ceremony with just a few guests or you choose exclusive use of the hotel, we will take the time to make sure your wedding is the unique event it deserves to be.For further information or for hotel, wedding and conference brochures please call our reception team who will be delighted to assist you.
