By Road

From Stratford Tourist Information Centre, drive up Bridge Street to a small roundabout. Go straight ahead up Wood Street to a set of traffic lights. At the lights drive straight on up Greenhill Street. At the next set of traffic lights turn left into Grove Road and continue driving for a couple of hundred yards until you see two plain trees and the Adelphi on the right hand side of the road. To park, turn right into the narrow lane just before the first tree and in between the Salamander and Ambleside guest houses. Drive to the end of the lane and bear right into the large open area. The five Adelphi parking spaces are clearly marked on the left hand side, separated by large flowerpots. Please park between the pots.

By Public Transport

The walk from the station takes about 5 minutes. The easiest way is to come out of the Station turn right and follow the new pedestrian path which curves to the left and runs alongside a raised road. When you come to the end turn right and almost straight in front of you is a set of lights. Cross the main road at these lights and then turn left and walk down the hill towards the next set of lights. At these lights turn right into Grove Road and continue walking for a couple of hundred yards until you reach a large plain tree on the right hand side of the street. The Adelphi is immediately to your right, opposite the entrance to the small park (Firs Gardens)on the left.

The Bear Pit is a voluntary organisation founded in 2008 with the purpose of bringing together the Visual and Performing Arts groups based in the town. The Bear Pit firmly believes that with all the groups working together, we can encourage the arts to flourish in this beautiful Warwickshire town.

Shakespeares Birthplace

Shakespeare Birthplace Trust

This is where the Shakespeare story began. As the house where William Shakespeare was born and grew up, Shakespeare's Birthplace has been welcoming visitors for over 250 years. Shakespeare also spent the first five years of married life in this house with his new wife, Anne Hathaway. Be inspired by theatrical performances, take part in family activities, events and festivals and step back in time with our resident Tudors. Explore, enjoy and be surprised by Shakespeare and his fascinating life story, whatever your age.
