St. Georges Day: Medieval living history in the Castle and re-enactments in the Castle Grounds.
To celebrate the patron saint of England the Castle and outdoor events are holding a Medieval experience. The day of fun includes living history at the Castle, where visitors can play Medieval games with Lady Freville, learn about Medieval weaponry and armour and have a go at laundry the Medieval way.
In the Castle Grounds there is; have a go archery, spectacular Medieval jousts, a living history encampment, children’s Medieval activities, street entertainers and much more.
Entrance to the Castle Grounds is free. Activities in the grounds start at 10.30am.
Admission to the Castle (from 11.30am): Adult £7.50, OAP £6.50, Child 5+ £5.00, Child 2-4 years £3.00, Child under 2 years free. Family ticket £23.00 (2 adults & 2 children)

As you explore this award winning Castle you can see for yourself the maze of intact rooms, halls and chambers that still echo with events from Norman dynasties, Tudor grandeur and great family influences.
Come and enjoy the all-year-round events and activities that keep families of all ages entertained and enthralled both inside the Castle and outside in the wonderful landscaped grounds alongside the River Anker.

Tamworth Castle really does bring history to life with fun re-enactments and superbly staged scenes from the past with regular Living History Days.
Active history doesn’t stop there with a range of events happening during half-term and school holidays including children’s drop-in workshops – great fun & messy, they’ll love it!
In 2011 Tamworth Castle hosted the sell-out exhibition of the key pieces of Saxon Gold when it returned home to the ancient capital of Mercia. We now have number of pieces on display. Come and discover more about the Mercian Trail.
From M1/M6 northbound take the M42 and exit at Junction 10. From the M6 southbound exit at Junction 12 and approach Tamworth via A5.
