Coalbrookdale 300 Project Receives Funding...

The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust has received a £150,000 funding boost from the DCMS/Wolfson Museums and Galleries Fund towards the second phase of its exciting Coalbrookdale 300 Project. This will include the redevelopment of the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron with new gallery and education spaces and help provide improved access to its nationally designated collections.

Destination Steering Group Formation

A new Destination Steering Group has been formed to boost the tourism economy for Stratford-on-Avon District. The new, independent body will comprise representatives from the tourism sector, local government and other organisations with an interest in developing a successful visitor economy for the area.

The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust is celebrating the news that it has secured a share of a £20 million per annum Major Grants funding stream from Arts Council England, to cover the period 2012-15.

The Ironbridge Gorge Museum in Shropshire has put itself forward for the prestigious Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award 2012. The Museum is joined by more than a hundred other family friendly attractions from across the country in one of the biggest museum awards in Britain and the only one judged by families.
