Design and make jumping creatures and catapults at Enginuity

Easter holidays 25th March - 10th April - Use your imagination to design colourful spring loaded creatures and see how far they can jump at Enginuity, near Ironbridge, Shropshire during the Easter school holidays. Then make and experiment with a catapult to compare how far it can launch a ‘missile’.

Club Expo event returns to the new look British Motor Museum

This popular Club Expo event returns to the new look British Motor Museum on Saturday 19 March from 9am – 4pm. Club and group representatives will be able to enjoy a number of talks and workshops aimed specifically at their needs, as well as visiting the newly refurbished Museum and new Collections Centre.

Atta cephalotes make their home at Stratford Butterfly Farm

The Stratford Butterfly Farm is delighted to announce that it has not one, but two new Leafcutter Ant colonies, kindly donated from Butterfly World in St Albans. The ants have now settled into their new home in Arachnoland and Insect City and can be seen travelling backwards and forwards along ropes.

After migrating 4,268 miles from Calgary, a group of feathered additions have arrived at their icy new home at The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham.

We were fortunate enough to be invited to try out their new menu which launched this month. ‘Sweethearts’ themed activities at Blists Hill Victorian Town Half term: 13th – 21st February

Go along to Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge during half term, Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st February, and join in ‘sweethearts’ themed craft activities. Listen to romantic poetry readings and visit the Town’s Victorian Printers which will be packed full with romantic love notes, poems and cards to browse and buy. Then discover more about the history of sweets and Victorian confectionery following a self-led sweet history trail around the Town.

February half term frolics in Shakespeare's England!

Celebrate the spring half term from 15 – 21 February in Shakespeare’s England with a host of exciting activities. Sing songs inspired by Shakespeare at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, head to Kenilworth Castle for their Knights & Princesses Academy, design a piece of automata for the MAD Museum or visit the new British Motor Museum to build a British car. Shakespeare’s England is the place to visit this half term to keep the kids entertained!

Hocus pocus and photo trickery at museum lecture

Art forms, artists and magic will be the focus of a fascinating talk based around visual deception, taking place at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford. This interactive and engaging talk entitled ‘Now you see it, now you don’t: The art of visual deception’ will take place on Monday 15 February in the museum’s lecture theatre, with seating for up to 200 guests.
