Two unique prestige Jaguars to go on display at Stratford's Festival of Motoring

The British Motor Museum and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT) are supporting this year’s Stratford Festival of Motoring by displaying two prestige Jaguars from its collection. The Festival takes place in Stratford-upon-Avon over the May Bank Holiday weekend (30 April/1 May) and one of the highlights is a display of high performance sports cars with Jaguar being this years featured marque.

MECCANO MARVELS COME TO IRONBRIDGE - Working Meccano Models at Enginuity: Bank Holiday Weekend 29th Apr – 1st May

An amazing display of working Meccano models created by Telford and Ironbridge Meccano Society (TIMS), Shropshire will be an extra bonus for anyone visiting Enginuity, one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums, over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 29th April to Monday 1st May. The mechanical marvels will be on display as part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Stratford Butterfly Farm welcomes new residents for Easter!

The Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm is welcoming some new residents in time for the Easter holidays. A number of Mexican Walking Fish, called Axolotls, have taken up residence at the UK’s largest Butterfly Farm. Resembling a cross between a fish and a lizard, the Pokémon character “Wooper” has been designed to look like an Axolotl! They are unusual amphibians as they do not complete metamorphosis. If, on rare occasions metamorphosis is complete they become Mexican Fire Salamanders. Rather than developing lungs and taking to land, they remain aquatic and have external gills.

New Museum of Iron opens 8th April in time for Easter - Part of Ironbridge Gorge Museums’ 50th anniversary celebrations

The all new Museum of Iron at Coalbrookdale, in Shropshire’s Ironbridge Gorge, is opening on Saturday, 8th April in time for the Easter holidays after a massive refurbishment. Telling the history of iron making from ancient times through to the present day, it will explain how remarkable discoveries made in The Gorge changed the world forever and why the area became internationally recognised as the Birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.
