Go back to the 1940’s - Severn Valley Railway

8th June 2009

railway bridge over the river

In June and July take a nostalgic look at Britain during World War II at the Severn Valley Railway, with period vehicles, costumes and re-enactments.

Get your ticket stamped by the home guard, hear the air-raids, see the dig for victory garden and listen to the big brass band. If you really want to get into the spirit of things, why not turn up in your own costume from the period.

Train services run from Kidderminster at 0905, and Bridgnorth at 0935. The special world-war themed events run on June 27-28, & July 4-5.
