Hop along to Coventry Museums for Easter holiday fun

30th March 2017

Families in Coventry won’t have to hunt for fun this Easter, as there’s a chock-full programme of activities at Coventry Museums.

At the Transport Museum there’s a holiday packed full of creative experiments with brand new Science Bites. Families can explore the science of optical illusions including the amazing Disappearing Colour Wheel, kaleidoscopes and much more. With a great interactive area in the Hot Rods and Kool Kustoms exhibition, and a Motor Maths trail to explore the whole museum, there’s plenty to do.

At the Herbert Art Gallery, a choice of activities including clay modelling, UV masks and printmaking is inspired by artworks from the portraits exhibition, Face to Face. Visitors can even meet some of the characters from the exhibition or take on the History Detectives Trail to find out more about the portraits of local people. There’s a break out play area for under 4s to keep the whole family entertained.

Older children can dip into the world of film production with the two-day Introduction to Animation: A Practical Workshop, also taking place at the Herbert. From cut-outs to stop motion, this is a hands-on animation workshop for 11 – 14 year olds. Places are limited so book in advance online, £26 per child.

Meanwhile at the Lunt Roman Fort younger visitors can enjoy creating their own shiny card and foil coins, inspired by actual coins discovered on site.
