We’re looking to spread the love at Dudley Zoological Gardens over half term as we celebrate Love Your Zoo Week!

18th May 2017

From Saturday, May 27 until Sunday, June 4 we’ll be encouraging visitors to love DZG as much as we do through lots of love-themed activities. We’re aiming to spread the message about our conservation, education and research work with some of the rarest animals in the world, which we’ve proudly been carrying out for 80 years!

DZG Marketing Manager, Andrea Hales, said: “Love Your Zoo Week is an annual celebration at DZG and we’re looking forward to a busy half term.

“There’ll be crafts, colouring and displays in the Discovery Centre’s Rainforest Room, a packed programme of daily animal talks and feeds and meet a critter in the Go Wild! Theatre at 1.15pm and 3.30pm, so there’ll be lots going on for all the family to enjoy.”

As part of the event, which is organised by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), we’re also inviting visitors to grab their camera, snap their favourite zoo resident over the week and enter our competition to win an adoption for the photographed animal.

Entries can be emailed to

Plus, there’ll also be a heart trail around the 40-acre site for the chance to win some of our limited edition 80th anniversary memorabilia, with a free Love Your Zoo Week sticker for all entrants.
