It kicks off on Friday 8 December with the special after hours edition of the Making Merry craft fair, showcasing local artists and craftspeople. The free evening event running from 7.30pm until 10.30pm is a chance for over 18s to get some Christmas shopping done in style, browsing handmade gifts and decorations. Visitors can enjoy a festive tipple in the café with live music from The Upsiders, plus games and the usual crafty making fun. Free tickets can be booked online in advance.

Also taking place on the Friday night is a Festive Gin Tasting Experience With The Little Gin Company (£36, tickets must be booked online in advance.)

On Saturday 9 December the Making Merry craft fair runs between 10am and 4pm offering another chance to buy lovely gifts that you won't find on the High Street, from stocking fillers to luxurious treats. Visitors can drop into free Christmas Card Crafting in Coventry Archives & Research Centre (inside the Herbert), from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Also on the Saturday 9, there’s a chance to enjoy a traditional and truly seasonal Wreath Making Workshop.
