Sinfonia Summer Concert

01/07/2017 till 01/07/2017

The concert will start with Mozart's Ballet Music from his opera, Idomeneo - a dramatic Greek story of love, conflict, murder, emotion and revenge. The music is beautiful and audacious! The multi-talented Claire Burnell will join us to play the well-known 1st Horn Concerto of Richard Strauss, written in Romantic style, with a distinct Mendelssohn influence. JS Bach's beautiful Three Chorale Preludes, arranged by Ottorino Respighi, cannot fail to stir the emotions - with the third being so familiar. The concert will end with Mendelssohn's ever-popular 'Italian' Symphony No. 4, which he said was the 'jolliest piece I have ever done, especially the last movement'. Music Genres: Classical

HEADLINERS - THE RAYMOND AND MR TIMPKINS REVUE The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue simply have to be seen to be believed. They're a prop/music driven double act, professionally dancing about and holding up words and pictures since 2004, though they’ve been enthusiastic amateurs for much longer. 'Explosively abrasive and buttock clenchingly funny as ever......amazingly rabidly good, just go and see them.' 3 Weeks “Joyous. Pretty irresistible' Chortle 'A mad, anarchic triumph of stupidity over style. Not to be missed.' The Guardian WITH SUPPORT FROM DOMINIC WOODWARD AND CLAYTON JONES HOSTED BY RESIDENT MC WAYNE BEESE
