Neon Night Run 2017

Friday 22 September 6.30pm – 10pm A huge neon party to raise money for the Mary Stevens Hospice. We come together for a night of live music and incredible performances before walking, running and dancing 5k around the beautiful grounds of Himley Hall. At the first ever event in 2016, more than 1200 people packed out the park and raised more than £23,000 for the support of local families! Victorian Bakery Experience

Experience life in our Victorian bakery, baker’s parlour and baker's shop. Meet your host with a welcoming  freshly brewed cuppa, put on your vintage  style clothes, tie up your apron and get ready to enjoy   some  Victorian baking with our specialist demonstrators. Firstly, you will discover  the history of our baker's shop - Veal's , check the coal fired ovens are hot  and you’ll soon be on your way to making  some traditional loaves, put your imagination to work and create something tasty and decorative to take home and experience demonstrating your new skills to Museum visitors as they pass by the bakery windows.  Once you've tested your loaf making skills,  move on into Veal's shop parlour  to make some delicious  biscuits and experience how Victorian life works in our baker's shop. Take a tasty  goodie bag as a souvenir to enjoy at home.  It’s thirsty work so you’ll look forward to the billycans coming round with the tea and a  well-earned famous fish and chip lunch. Forge Experience Day

A "hands on" experience of Blacksmithing under the experienced guidance of our Locksmith Demonstrator.  Set in the atmospheric Edwardian house and lockmaking workshops of the Hodson family – experience life of one of the many family businesses that made Willenhall the heart of lockmaking since the Industrial Revolution.  Our Locksmith will introduce you to the forge, show you the basic  forging tools and how to  use them.  Experience lockmaking  and learn how to forge a point, a flat and a bend into a piece of metal, some of the key elements to forging a padlock. Enjoy some light refreshments as we serve up lunch and,  as a souvenir of your experience, you will be able to take home a   bar from a bar padlock and nails.
