Family Pottery Making Workshop

Come and take part together in a fun and creative workshop. Learn an exciting variety of making techniques using real clay with the experienced tuition of ceramic artist Jon Williams. Visit the award-winning Black Country Living Museum and join in with 300 years of history like no other. One of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK, the Museum immerses visitors into the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the past. Explore original period shops and houses and meet the Museum’s costumed characters along the way - they’ll explain what it was like to live and work in one of the world’s most heavily industrialised landscapes.

Do You Enjoy A Good Yarn? Bring your knitting for a cuppa and a cant Knitting volunteers are asked to come along and support our costume department, to knit away whilst nattering and making new friends. All are welcome whether you are a novice of the needles or an experienced knitter. The knitting that you do will help to provide great support to the costumes made for BCLM. Meet at the Museum Reception, 1.30pm – 3.00pm,  Tea & Coffee provided – Bring Your Knitting! Summer Holidays: Family Day

10.00am – 4.00pm Join us for our biggest family day of the year and learn all about the Vikings! Including crafts, face painting, weaponry displays, warrior dance workshops and performances by award-winning storytellers Annamation. The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum has recently undergone a £20 million redevelopment; the site has eight permanent galleries displaying its collections and four temporary galleries displaying large-scale touring exhibitions.
