Mr Watt, Grumpy Man of Metal Comes to Ironbridge

Mr Watt, Grumpy Man of Metal’s, creator Jon Mills was born in Birmingham in 1959 into a family of metalworkers and studied at Wolverhampton before helping to found Brighton’s Red Herring Studios in 1983.

Museum opens 10am - 5pm daily This fascinating exhibition, by blacksmith artist Jon Mills, showcases fun and whimsical sculptures showing the many adventures of Mr Watt, Grumpy Man of Metal, who features in a series of illustrated books and makes unusual metal objects such as a crab’s bicycle, flying machine and a new kind of trumpet. Quaker Tapestry exhibition

Join a drop-in tile decorating workshop and try the tube lining technique to produce a tile featuring your own design and choice of colours. Activities vary from day-to-day; tiles cost from £5 each and can be fired and sent home later for a small extra charge to cover postage and packing.
